Day 1: Friday
Reached Bangalore. Pretty crappy - or as much I saw of it so far, lodging making it no better. Literally a stone's throw away from the Yashwantpur Railway station. Shady neighbourhood, shady lodge, shady room, shady roommate. My room is under a flight of stairs. Harry Potter, anyone? Anyways whatever. For 40 bucks a night this place is quite comfortable. The IISc. campus is beautiful: the new hostels really kick ass (haven't seen the old ones yet which I hear are not at all good). Shifted in. The prof won't be coming in on a weekend so I'm basically jobless for the next couple of days. Toilet with a broken flush in an area that I can't fit in standing. Weird positions of NCC here I come again. I guess I have to try something. Started raining in the evening. Must be even more crappy outside now. Sitting alone in my room with a cockroach and lizard for company. The false flooring, the hidden lights in the false ceiling, all making the room feel a hypocritical modern. I guess now's time about to go for dinner. So another short walk left.

This blog will try to be specifically meant for all that I ended up penning down during my summer in Bangalore this year. The first part of this will be mainly the first twelve days or so I managed to maintain journal type entries in a notebook. So here goes...
